Morning Doctor's Appointments
If you have an urgent medical problem that cannot wait for the next routine appointment you can make use of our open access appointments.
You must present at the surgery reception before 10:00am to see a doctor. However, we are unable to give you a choice of doctor for these morning appointments with the exception of them being male or female. Please be aware that you may have to wait some time to be seen depending on how busy we are.
The doctors are only able to deal with one problem per visit during the morning open access clinic. If you have more than one problem please pre-book an appointment via reception or online.
PLEASE NOTE: As a result of increased attendance at our walk in surgery and to ensure patient safety the clinic will now be capped at a specific number of patients, dependent upon the amount of doctors available that day.
An appointment system is in operation at Priory Medical Centre to help minimise patient waiting times. Appointments may be made personally or by telephoning (0151) 260 9119 between 8.00am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday. GP consultations are available from 8.30 - 11.30am, 1.30 - 4.30pm and 4.00 - 6.00pm.
When making an appointment, you have the right to request a doctor of your choice. Priory Medical Centre has both male and female doctors - 5 male and 4 female.
Additional appointments are also available at weekends and evenings provided by other local GP practices as part of the GP Extended Access service. They provide face to face consultations weekday evenings from 4.00pm - 9.00pm, Saturdays from 9.00pm - 4.00pm and Sundays from 9.00 - 1.00pm. These appointments are available following an initial telephone consultation that can be booked via contacting our reception on (0151) 260 9119.
You can book your appointment online. To access this service you will need a Practice ID number and an Access ID number, which are obtained from the practice. Your Access ID number, in conjunction with a password, will be unique to you.

Please note that all appointments for blood tests finish at 3:30pm. Please do not book an appointment for a blood test for any later than 3:30pm.
Urgent Medical Problems
If you have an urgent medical problem please phone the surgery on (0151) 260 9119. You will initially be put through to one of our practice nurses who will assess your problem and direct you to the appropriate person to deal with your problem.
'Touch Screen' Check-in
We have a system that allows you to let us know that you have arrived for your appointment. These are touch-screen computers and are situated in each waiting room. The system is easy to use and frees up our receptionists’ time, which allows them to concentrate on answering the telephones. If you have any difficulties using these screens, our receptionist will be happy to help.
Non-attendance is an increasing problem. If you are unable to keep your appointment please inform us as soon as possible (on telephone number (0151) 347 0507) as appointments are in great demand and someone else can be seen in your place. You can also cancel appointments online, please click here.
