GP
Registrars
There may be from time to time three
GP registrars in post at Priory Medical Centre. GP Registrars are fully
qualified doctors who have chosen general practice as the career
that they wish to pursue, and who will be gaining valuable experience
by being based at our practice for between 6 and 18 months. At all times
they provide care of the same standard provided by the other doctors
at the centre. Sometimes patients are requested to allow their consultation
with the registrar or one of the other doctors to be videotaped. This
is for educational purposes and helps doctors improve their skills.
If you do not wish your consultation to be taped just say so; your care
will not be affected in any way. Patient records may occasionally be
viewed by senior doctors monitoring training standards in the practice.
Medical Students
Priory
Medical Centre is a teaching practice and from time to time it may be
that a student will be in attendance whilst you are having a consultation
with the doctor. You will always be told beforehand that a student is going to
be present and if you would prefer to see the doctor alone just say
so; your care will not be affected in any way.
Practice nurses,
district nurses and health visitors have training roles within the practice
and from time to time they also may have students working with them
under supervision to gain valuable experience.
