PROVIDED TO PATIENTS AT PRIORY MEDICAL CENTRE
The Priory Medical Centre offers a full range of general medical services to a population whose needs are varied. Surgeries and home visits take place Monday to Friday. At other times the UC 24 Out of Hours GP Service provides cover for medical emergencies that cannot safely wait until normal working hours. UC 24 operates between the hours of 6.30pm - 8.00am Monday to Friday and 6.30pm Friday to 8.00am Monday.

Complimentary Therapies
Full provision of chronic disease management in relation to diabetes, asthma, hypertension, heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, epilepsy, stroke, obesity, thyroid disorders, atrial fibrillation, heart failure and mental health is offered. Pregnancy counselling is available from Drs Machin and McGuiness.
Priory Endoscopy Services
This service commenced in April 1994. Pioneered by Dr Featherstone, this was a first in General Practice in the North West. Upper GI (gastro-intestinal) endoscopies for the diagnosis of problems in the gullet, stomach and duodenum are performed by Dr Simms at two sessions per week, Tuesday and Friday pm.
He is assisted by three practice nurses who are specialists in endoscopy. Telephone (0151) 261 4705.
The service began as a pilot scheme for two years' duration and was financed by the Mersey Regional Health Authority.
Minor Surgery Service
We provide minor surgery procedures for all Liverpool patients referred by their GPs. The minor surgery procedures are conducted by Dr Mike Redmond, Dr Kevin Simms and Dr Steve Connolly.
